In 2013, seeing the growing needs of collaboration with the Republic of South Africa (RSA) to serve the people living in the southern Africa region and country, LIN decided to start its mission in RSA with the aim to assist the RSA key stakeholders, including government, academic institutes and civil society, to strengthen its health system through the competence of LIN. LIN registered in South Africa as a Non Profit External Company with registration number:2013/231157/12 and certificate issued by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission(CIPC) in December 2013.

In 2014, the cooperation MoU between Walter Sisulu University (WSU) and LIN was formed to establish collaborative partnership with particular reference to research, service, technical support, health services improvement, national health insurance and professional education development at various health service provider level in areas of mutual benefit.
