In August 2020, Pingtung Christian Hospital (PTCH) and Luke International, South Africa office (LIN-SA) donated single blades for safety intubation, gloves and safety intubation boxes to the National Department of Health of South Africa to help combat against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donations were delivered by LIN-SA’s National Program Manager, Ms. Lynda Halbrow to the Head of Cluster Management of International Health Development, Ms. Lebogang Lebese who officially thanked PTCH and LIN-SA for the donation. The safety intubation boxes and the intubation blades will be shared to the public hospitals, such as the Steve Biko Academic Hospital. The Director General of National Department of Health, Mr. Sandile Buthelezi wrote an appreciation letter to the Superintendent of PTCH, Dr. Joseph Yu, to acknowledge the donation. He also mentioned that the donation will assist to strengthen the health system and the public health emergency preparedness in the country.
