2020 was an extraordinary year on all accounts. In our annual report, we share with you how LIN partnered with actors in the government, civil society, and within the community to support the COVID-19 response and other development needs in Malawi.
Building on strong local knowledge and implementing experience, LIN contributed core expertise in three working areas.
In the area of digital health, LIN supported the Malawi National COVID-19 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). The implementation of various digital tools for disease surveillance, incident management and data visualization fulfilled the critical needs of the centre responsible for processing and acting on information during the pandemic.
Our research and capacity building program continued to cultivate and grow local capacity within and outside of Malawi.
Not leaving behind the community, LIN was among the first organizations in northern Malawi to conduct community outreach campaigns to raise awareness on COVID-19. Working with students that were affected by school closures that lasted for months, our teams encouraged and motivated the young scholars with materials and emotional support.
What the past year has shown was that, now more than ever, it is important for use to work together. Social distancing does not mean social isolation. LIN is committed to serve the people in Malawi and Southern Africa, together with partners, and with each and every one of you – our supporters. We invite you to learn more about our work in our annual report!
